We’ve had so many people practice this that we no longer have to cut the candle into three. It’s become a strong collective energy. The more who participate the stronger it (the belief) becomes. The newer participants partake of the energy that was set by others and add to the pot, if you will, of positivity.
Why black candles?
Calm down its psychological. Most associate black with negativity. Yes, different colors represent different types of workings; it’s not my concern here. We use black because it represents the negative we’re trying to release.
Why a candle?
A few reasons. Fire is known to burn off negativity; it represents light, healing, progression, warmth, connection to divine, connection to other realms and consciousness. Its another way for us to connect with energy. Focusing our intent into the candle then having it burn continues the intent even after is burns out. You may notice the flame is behaving strangely when working with it. Don’t worry it’s just burning off the junk you don’t want; for instance a blockage. Another reason is, fire always catches ones attention so every time you look at the candle, to check on it, it will subconsciously reinforces the intent of what you’re doing.
Why engrave?
There’s power in writing, it has your energy. Engraving the candle aids in focusing your intent of the desired outcome and puts your energy into it. It holds your intent, will, preference giving the thought energy direction and putting into play, making the process much more powerful. It’s a transformative process of taking the thought energy and turning it into “reality.”
Why three days?
There’s power in the number three, it is sacred and have a great significance through many different cultures. “In Hinduism Lord Shiva is often pictured with a trident, the prongs representing his three fundamental powers will, action and knowledge”.(Soda, Ivory 2016) Here’s a ink https://www.universallifetools.com/2010/09/article-number-3-numerology/ fun article on the sacred number 3.
Why cut cords with candles?
With all that I have written you can see why it would hold much more power than just a visualization technique. The intent is to remove the energy of another out of your space, that’s it. When we have this psychic connection to others negativity can be exchanged through the energetic cords. You could feel depleted, experience a bit of bad luck while the other person happily moves forward and you could even add to their luck. It could cause sickness, a feeling of being stuck and or depressed. Cutting cords it’s just a way to disconnect from a person, place or thing, which you have given your attention to forming a connection. Separating yourself makes for a more grounded, connected, peaceful ‘you.’ Your prayers and intent work become stronger. Being connected to others this way is not healthy for you or them and is not working for anyones higher good.
Is it dangerous & who should do this?
No, it’s not dangerous. Many feel lighter and better after this practice. However, I would not recommend to cut cords this way in every situation. I would always recommend cutting cords in visualization first. I would only recommend candle work in heavier cases where individuals are becoming fearful, obsessed, depressed, feeling stuck over a long period time (months/years) or if there’s been an extremely bad energy exchange.
