I’ve worked with thought forms, cleared them, and even (accidentally) created a few (🙃). Let’s break this down in the simplest way possible.
What Is a Thought Form?
My Take: A thought form is like an energetic uku (Hawaiian for “lice”—you’ll notice I call everything an uku). Annoying, persistent, and feeding off your energy. It’s created when we obsess over the same negative thoughts or emotions for way too long. Imagine replaying “I’m not good enough” on a mental Spotify loop. Eventually, that energy builds up and becomes an invisible parasite.
They don’t have a mind of their own—they’re non-sentient (no consciousness). Just recordings stuck on repeat. For example, my daily chorus of “Whose dishes are in da sink?” and “Who the heo’s sock is dis?” to my ohana, could create a thought form… but luckily, I’m just small kine annoyed, not weighed down by it. (Frickas! 😂)—but that’s the difference.
On the Flip Side: Thought forms can also be used intentionally. In chaos magic (my jam), practitioners create servitors—energetic helpers made by focusing thoughts/feelings—done over a period of time to carry out tasks. It’s the same smell but different names. It’s like programming Alexa, but with emotions & giving her spiritual assignments. It’s a similar concept with voodoo dolls: you pour intent & feelings into an object, over a period of time, to influence something. Sidenote: If you venture into the Servitor magick, always give servitors an expiration date, like “Dissolve when I’m done!”
Who Coined “Thought Form”?
The term was introduced by Annie Besant and Charles Leadbeater in their 1905 book Thought-Forms, backed by the Theosophical Society. They basically said: “Thoughts are energy blobs with colors and shapes.” Anger = red spikes, love = pink clouds, etc.
I haven’t read their whole book (I’m more of a vibe-check-the-energy person—I saw the word Thoughtform and already knew what they were talking about), but the gist is:
- Thoughts create shapes in the “astral plane” (invisible energy world).
- Earlier writings (like The Mahatma Letters in the 1880s) called thoughts “real entities,” but Besant and Leadbeater made it a thing.
- Tibetan tulpas (mind-made entities) got mixed into the conversation later. (Alexandra David-Néel wrote about creating a tulpa that went rogue. Girl, same. 😂)
I’m not totally sold on the idea of a Thought Form becoming a conscious entity, but I can kinda see it.
Thought Forms vs. Demons vs. Attachments vs. Servitors
Christians: “It’s a demon!”
Me, sipping tea: 🍵 Mmmkay.
Thought Form | Demon | Attachment | Servitor |
Made from your stuck thoughts/emotions | Independent dark entity (if you believe in them) | Lingering energy from others—creates weird bond (dead/alive) | Programmed energy helper |
No consciousness—like a song stuck in your head | Has its own agenda | Feels like a psychic leech | Follows your commands |
Fix it with cleansing & mindset shifts | Needs exorcism-level work | Clear it with cord-cutting & spiritual cleanses | Dissolve it with a command |
Examples:
- Thought form: Your brain’s broken record giving you curse-like vibes.
- Demon: A stranger barging into your hale (house) uninvited. 🚨
- Attachment: Like stubborn belly fat after the holidays—annoying but manageable. 😒
- Servitor: A Roomba you programmed to clean your aura… but it’s stuck vacuuming the same spot. (Nah, it can be programmed to do more! 😉)
How to Spok (Slang for “Spot”) a Thought Form
🔹 Same negative thought, like a broken record.
🔹 Feeling drained around certain people/places.
🔹 Relationships stuck in the same fights.
You’ll be able to intuitively sense that something “feels off.” If this sounds familiar, don’t panic—thought forms are not dangerous. You won’t get possessed. They’re just energy lint.
How to Clear Them
- For Personal Thought Forms
- Awareness: Notice when you’re in a mental loop. Ask: “Is this ME or old energy?” LIsten to your intuition.
- Change the Script: Swap “I’m a mess” with “I’m figuring it out.”
- Clean Up: Salt baths, sage smudging, or visualizing white light. (No Hogwarts ritual—simple spiritual cleanses work.)
- For Relationship Thought Forms
If you and your partner keep having the same fight:
- Cut the Cord: Visualize snipping an energetic rope between you.
- Change Negative Patterns: Heal old wounds
- For ‘Stubborn’ Ones
Call a psychic, shaman, or energy healer. A good one will fix it in a few steps—no goat sacrifices needed.
Side story: My Past-Life Thought Form-ish Roommates
Years ago, I kept seeing shadowy demonic-looking figures in my dreams. Turns out, they were thought forms I’d made in a past life—thanks to an Akashic Reading. I probably programmed them to do tasks but forgot the “delete” button. They weren’t evil—just lost interns still clocked in. Once I thanked them and said “Shift’s over”… no more funky dreams.
Final Thoughts (Pun intended)
Thought forms aren’t scary. They’re just energy—and energy can be changed. You’re in control. They’re only powerful if you feed them..
- Clear them with awareness, cleansing, and mindset shifts.
- Some are old programs from past lives
- A healer can help if you’re stuck.
Stay shiny! ✨
P.S.
A Quick Note on Energy Attachments
Since I brought it up earlier, here’s a brief on energy Attachments—they’re cousins to the concept of thought forms. Attachments are lingering energies from other people, spirits, or even places that stick to your aura like gum on a shoe.
- Culturally Speaking:
-
- Shamans see them as “hitchhiking spirits” (often ancestors or lost souls) that need gentle guidance to the light.
- Hindu/Yogic traditions call them bhutas or pretas—restless energies tied to unresolved desires.
- Islamic traditions might link them to djinn, beings who can latch onto negativity.
- Modern magick folks compare them to psychic spam emails—annoying but deletable.
- Demons? Maybe… But You’ll Know:
If you smell rotten eggs, sulfur, or something foul (like a dumpster behind a seafood shop), some believe it could signal a demonic presence.
Attachments clear up with the same tools: cord-cutting, cleansing, or asking a skilled healer for backup. No need to panic—they’re just another type of spiritual lint.
Stay shinier! ✨
