(Face lift on an old blog called Stumbling Blocks: Update May 2025)
One minute you’re all good—next thing you know, you’re an emotional mess, da whole bag of chips is gone with 2 trails left—crumbs & tears.
Energetic imprints are all over. We could walk through a web of it, and suddenly—it drags us back into old emotions that were supposed to be healed.
HUMPH! The empath’s paradox: Feeling everything deeply is both our biggest flex and our cutest tightest jeans — soul-hugging, borderline uncomfortable… but damn, do we shine.
Strong emotions and trauma linger. (No, not hauntings—though the idea is similar. This isn’t about spirits; it’s about the residue of intense human experiences, like grief or anger, that seep into environments.) Our energy field picks up these vibrations quickly. The issue is when we mistake it for our own.
🤦🏽Whyyyyyyyyy… This Keeps Happening (Karmic Edition)
Our souls sign up for certain lessons—repetitive ones, usually—to master themes like boundaries, forgiveness, or self-worth. I know these are my lessons too—not just from my own life, but because they’re repeat themes in healing sessions with clients. Guess I signed up for the deluxe package lol. So, when we ‘randomly’ get sucked back into old wounds, there’s a ‘tweaking’ going on. And no, you didn’t sign up for the wrong life😆
The Play-by-Play Recap:
We walk into imprinted energy that triggers our own karmic lesson. Unknowingly being triggered by old wounds can make us focus on current woes more intensely. The Empath—aware of a mood shift that makes no logical sense—works out the karmic lesson like a friendly reminder. It hurts, but she/he is moving along much more productively.”
For the Pop Quiz😆
- Soul Contracts & Repetition:
-
-
- souls choose lessons to master across lifetimes.
-
- Energy Imprints as Triggers
-
-
- Energy never disappears.
- They’re called “psychic debris”; Religion / Healers might label it “attachments.” Same smell.😛
-
- Moving 4ward:
-
-
- Alchemists believed suffering transforms lead into gold. Modern neuroscience confirms facing triggers rewires the brain (neuroplasticity) — my jam, I do it Attunement style.
- The empath’s “Hey what is ‘this?” moment = the soul’s “Ahhhh, this again—let’s heal this for good.”
-
- Productive Movement:
-
- Jung: “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life.” Noticing the trigger = 80% of the work. I SOOOOO believe in this! I can’t say this again — Attunement; this is my favorite thing to do… heal!
- Hurt but healing. That’s the “friendly reminder” in action—no more autopilot suffering.
Clean Up on Aisle Sensitive
- Grounding & Cord Cutting
- Egg Cleanse, Salt Bath, jump into the ocean, running water, Smudging & Sound Clearing — tons of ways to get shiny again.
- It’s an easy cleanse: Most important thing is to practice recognizing when a shift happened
- Religious Parallels: In Christianity, “casting your burdens” is energy work. Buddhism’s mindfulness teaches us to observe emotions without becoming them. Both say: Don’t own what isn’t yours. “NOT MINE!”
The Day-ly Shift
Mindfulness = energy hygiene.
The person who’s diabetic takes their insulin, exercises, watches what they eat—they tend to their condition. I’m not comparing their illness, but we should take steps to care for our ‘conditions’ too.
When we catch ourselves drowning in emotions that feel off, we ask:
“Is this mine? My coworker’s drama from earlier? Or did I just step in some energetic shhht?”
Thennnnn—we choose: engage or cleanse. echo… choose, choose, choose… Choose to see, then clean. Trust me, the star of many drama reruns.
Remember: Healing isn’t linear. Some days we’re good; others, just aight. But every time we notice these triggers—“Ahhh, old shhht creeping up!”—we reclaim power. Next time? It won’t hit as hard.
Instant replay:
Pause. Ask: “Wait—is this mine or someone else’s dirty energetic underwear?” Don’t wear it.
