The Power of Naming: A Guide to Energetic Scanning & Release
All energy carries information. Negative emotions, traumas, and beliefs can embed themselves in the body, affecting the nearest chakras or meridians. This creates blockages that manifest as physical discomfort, emotional distress, or life stagnation.
A simple method to address them:
- Scan
- Identify
- Name (Release begins here—the intent completes it)
Naming a ‘negative’ energy dissolves its hold—like the Catholic practice of exorcism, where naming the demon weakens it. Simply speaking the issue aloud begins its release. This blends empathy, energy manipulation with the clairsentient gift, and intuitive dialogue for quick shifts. Sounds complex, but it’s not.
Note on “negative” energy: It’s not inherently “bad”—just unproductive. It creates blockages or sickness, which is why we address it.
Section 1: The Gifts
1. The Clairsentient Foundation
It began for me as an empath—feeling others’ emotions as my own. Everyone is an empath; some are just more in tune. Refining this gift is a great place to start in sensing energy.
Many of us begin here, learning to distinguish personal energy from external energy. Over time, it developed into perceiving energy in all its forms: clairsentience. Empathy is the radar; other psychic gifts refine the signal.
Difference Between Empath & Clairsentient:
- Empath: Feels emotions (e.g., sudden sadness in a room).
- Clairsentient: Expands beyond emotions to sense:
- Physical sensations (e.g., phantom pain where someone is injured).
- Energy blockages (e.g., heaviness over a chakra).
- Spiritual presence (e.g., chills = spirit nearby).
- Environmental energy (e.g., static in a “haunted” place).
- Intentions (e.g., gut punch when someone lies).
- Past/future echoes (e.g., déjà vu = energy replay).
A skilled clairsentient can also project and manipulate energy (sometimes called energy healing, psychic healing, or prana work).
2. Energy Projection & Manipulation
Some traditions call this:
- Prana Vidya (Yoga) – Directing life force.
- Reiki (Japan) – Channeling universal energy.
- Psychic Healing (West) – Using will to shift energy.
It’s not just reading energy—it’s projecting it to stabilize or loosen blockages.
Insight: Energy → follows intent. If you’ve ever “felt” someone staring at you, you’ve experienced projected energy.
3. Prophetic Utterance (Claircognizance + Proclamation)
Prophecy isn’t just seeing—it’s speaking truth that shifts reality. Naming an issue (e.g., “This guilt in your sacral chakra”) disrupts its hold.
Other traditions that recognize this:
- Shamanic Declarations – Naming spirits to banish them.
- Ho’oponopono – Healing through acknowledgment.
- Word Magick (Hermeticism) – Power of vibrational speech.
How These Gifts Work Together:
- Empathic Connection – Aligns us to the person.
- Clairsentient Detection – Senses the energy.
- Energy Changing – Projects focus to shift it.
- Prophecy – Names and releases.

Notes on Energy Gender Coding
In my sessions (non-traditional):
- Left side of the body = Male influences (father, brother, etc.).
- Right side = Female influences (mother, sister, etc.).
- Closer to fingertips = Closer relatives (e.g., pinky = grandparent).
(Most systems flip this—go with your intuition.)
Why This Matters:
This is for those using their own body to mirror the person being worked on—not taking in their ailment, but using it as a guide to sense blockages.
Simply stating, “This involves a female/male energy” prompts the client to speak on it—accelerating healing. For example, if I feel sensations while scanning, I’ll say, “Feels like a female—mom, aunt, etc.” When the topic arises, the client begins to speak. Energy healing + talk therapy.
Note: This isn’t mainstream spiritual knowledge, but it works. Terminology varies—follow your intuition.
How to Scan
Before You Begin:
Ground and center (Self & Client). Have the client do a quick breathing exercise to push out stagnant energy. Example: I do a 4, 7, 8 count. Inhale 4, hold 7 & release for a long 8 count.
Note: Building rapport is crucial. Clients are vulnerable—they’re sharing fears and secrets they often hide. I joke it’s like “standing in front of someone in your underwear, being judged.” It’s funny, but it’s real. Make them feel safe.
I like to mirror by proxying myself—scanning my own body for uncomfortable sensations that grab my attention, then naming them. If it doesn’t resonate immediately, trust the process. The client often circles back later, or it’s energy they’re unaware of—name it anyway.
This process removes negative energy from the body/chakra/field, leading to:
- Alleviation of physical ailments.
- Clarity around emotional blockages.
My intent in sessions is to find these blockages. I’m still building confidence in direct healing (targeting sickness/injury straight on) versus clearing negative energy first.
Chakras as Guides
This chart reflects my hands-on experience—non-traditional but practical. Stagnant energy (not inherently “negative,” just unproductive) manifests in the body.
| Chakra | Issues Revealed | Physical Links |
| Crown | Spiritual disconnection, energy “leaking.” | Migraines, dizziness. |
| Third Eye | Stored sadness, distorted perspectives. | Eye strain, headaches. |
| Throat | Anxiety, loneliness, self-expression blocks. | Sore throat, thyroid issues. |
| Healer’s Spot | Energy vampirism, attachments. | Upper back pain, fatigue. |
| Heart | Rage, resentment (rooted in sadness). | Asthma, high blood pressure. |
| Solar Plexus | Confidence, personal power struggles. | Digestive issues, adrenal fatigue. |
| Sacral | Guilt, shame, emotional/financial stress. | Lower back pain, UTIs. |
| Root | Identity, survival fears, self-worth. | Knee pain, immune weakness. |
Note: Don’t memorize this. Your intuition will guide you.
Key Insight
Identifying these energies can speed up medical treatment. For example, acknowledging heart chakra rage may ease hypertension faster alongside medication.
Added Quick Method: Ask the client, “What happened in the last 2–3 days (or weeks)?” Triggers often reveal blockages. If I feel energy on the right side, I’ll say, “A female’s involved.” Then, have them “push” it out .
All they need to do is imagine the negative energy where I’ve detected it. I’ll then say, “whatever picture comes to mind is correct – you can’t get it wrong because it’s your imagination. The only thing I ask is that you don’t tense up.” This active participation is powerful – by engaging like this, the person is actually helping to clear the blockage and restore balance to the area.
Step-by-Step Release
1. Naming the Energy
Example:
“I feel heaviness in your solar plexus—is something going on at work?”
Why It Works:
- Naming brings subconscious energy to awareness.
- The brain releases healing chemicals in response.
Reader’s Question: What if the client denies the issue?
It doesn’t matter—still name it. Their higher self decides what to work on. Often, they’re unaware, but it surfaces later.
2. Dialogue & Release
Subconscious Bypass:
- Blunt statements shock the brain into new perspectives. Example: “You are unworthy.”
- I’ll blatantly lie or say something outrageous, then add: “Accept this as truth or valid for now—just let it sit.” Please make note: I let the person know it is not true but treated as it is.Â
- Why it works: The brain scrambles to reject it, revealing hidden blocks.
Guided Visualization:
- Alignment happens through the energetic connection (no trance needed).
- See/feel what they do—like two people in one memory.
Example Visualizations:
- Childhood regression (locate root causes).
- Past-life glimpses (rare, but intuitive).
- Higher self/spirit guide communication.
3. Energy Sweep
- Sense it → Name it → Add light if prompted.
- Never project your own energy (you’ll get sick). Channel universal energy (“psychic light”), but don’t deplete yourself.
- Uses clairsentient projection (not “empathic”)—a two-way flow to merge with their field temporarily.—In this process we also get healing. Win, win.
Comparative Insight: How This Differs from Reiki
I channel universal energy too—I just call it “healing power” or “psychic energy.” But I also use dialogue and adapt intuitively:
- Percussive Release: Drumming fingers to shake loose energy (like shamanic bodywork).
- Psychic Flushing: Visualizing energy draining like a clogged pipe (similar to EFT).
Other Scanning Techniques
- Hands-On Physical Scanning
- Palming: Hover hands 2–6 inches above the body. Cold = blockage; heat = overactive energy.
- Point-to-Point Touch: Tap meridians to find “sticky” spots.
- Clairvoyant/Visual Scanning
- Aura Reading: Murky gray = stagnation; gold = balanced.
- Inner Vision: “See” black spots in organs (e.g., liver = anger).
- Elemental Scanning
- 🔥 Fire: Heat = anger. 🌊 Water: Pooling = emotional stagnation.
Ethical Guidelines
- No Fixation on Illness: I usually will say, “You’re dodging bullets here” → acknowledges energy without empowering it.
- Higher Self Leads: Channel only what’s needed. Their higher self knows best—we don’t.
Final Notes
- Trust your intuition. It’ll tell you what you need to know.
- Practice daily—scan pets, friends, or even a drawn body outline.
“Hopefully you learned something new—and didn’t accidentally scan this blog first!” 😂
I send my aloha! 🌺
